Energy Audit: A building energy audit is often the first step in making your commercial building more efficient. An audit can help you assess how much energy your building uses and evaluate what measures you can take to improve efficiency. Building Sciences will use a variety of techniques and equipment to determine the energy efficiency of your building . Our audits use high-tech equipment such as blower doors, which measure the extent of leaks in the building envelope, and infrared cameras, which reveal hard-to-detect areas of air infiltration and missing insulation. Our energy audits are the most comprehensive in the industry. At the end of the audit, you will receive an easy to read report detailing improvement recommendations, along with industry-standard costs and pay-back periods of these improvements.
Pre-Construction Energy-Wise Design Review: The best time to lock in energy efficiency is in the design phase – not during or after construction. Before you begin construction on your building, let Building Sciences review your plans for the most energy efficient design. Let us help you build in energy efficiency into your new building. A little design can go a long way.
Roof, electrical and building infrared thermal scan: Roofing contractors, building owners, and others utilize our roof inspection service to prevent major roof repairs. Infrared thermography, along with other non-destructive testing techniques, is used to identify temperature differences created by saturated insulation in the roof assembly. In addition, we can look at electrical components for hot spots – a clear signal something is wrong. Many insurance companies now require annual Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs on commercial buildings. Building Sciences can provide many of these PM services.
Property Inspections: Whether it is a brand-new building, or an existing one, Building Sciences can provide you home inspection services. Our principle owner, Rashid Burney is a NJ licensed inspector who specializes in older structures – structures which are often much tougher to inspect and often have several issues overlooked by the casual eye.
Oil Tank Scan: The purchase of any property always carries some risks. One way to reduce that risk is to have a property inspection done. Another is to have an oil tank scan performed. Many insurance companies no longer cover oil tank leaks – and a leaking oil tank can easily cost tens of thousands of dollars to clean up. Protect yourself. Building Sciences will scan your entire property for any underground oil tanks and offer you peace of mind. This service can be purchased separately, or included at a discount with either our Property Inspection or Energy Audit.
Property Management: Let Building Sciences LLC manage your investment properties in Central and Northern NJ. We take care of all aspects of property management, including collection of rent, eviction, new tenants and all routine repairs and maintenance.
