Energy Audit:
A home energy audit is often the first step in making your home more efficient. Our audits use equipment such as blower doors, which measure the extent of leaks in the building envelope, and infrared cameras, which reveal hard-to-detect areas of air infiltration and missing insulation.
Our energy audits are the most comprehensive in the industry and at the end of the audit, you will receive a comprehensive report detailing all the areas of your home that could use improvements, along with industry-standard costs and pay-back periods of these improvements.
Pre-Construction Energy-Wise Design Review:
The best time to lock in energy efficiency is in the design phase – not during or after construction. Before you begin construction on your new home or home addition, let Building Sciences LLC review your plans for the most energy efficient design. We can often make recommendations that result in long-lasting energy efficiency and comfort – all often, for a very few dollars.
Infrared Scan:
If you have been baffled by unknown rises in heating bills, you may have multiple areas of heat loss. An infrared camera is an excellent tool to be able to detect unseen heat loss. But like all tools, it needs an expert to be able to “see” the right results. Building Sciences LLC offers certified, profession thermography services to homeowners and business owners interested in cutting energy costs. This service can be done just by itself, or as part of a larger energy audit.
Home Inspections:
Whether it is a brand-now home, or an existing home, Building Sciences LLC can provide you home inspection services. Our principle owner, Rashid Burney is a NJ licensed home inspector who specializes in older homes – which are often much tougher to inspect and often have several issues overlooked by the inspector not so tuned into old-home problems.
Construction Inspections:
Homeowners need an honest, impartial expert who is going to look out for their interests. Building Sciences LLC can oversee a construction project and report to the homeowner on work that is being done. We typically get requests to oversee kitchen, bathroom, addition, roofing projects and brand new construction.
Oil Tank Scan:
The purchase of any property always carries some risks. One way to reduce that risk is to have a property inspection done. Another is to have an oil tank scan performed. Many insurance companies no longer cover oil tank leaks – and a leaking oil tank can easily cost tens of thousands of dollars to clean up. Protect yourself.
